The stories you’ll find throughout this website provide a snapshot of what demographic change looks like in America today, particularly as immigrants move to the Midwest, the South and suburbs around the country.

Are any of the Shelbyville Multimedia stories similar to the situation in your city or town?  Do the characters remind you of anyone you know? Consider using our tools and resources to inspire your own community building. Most of the activities below are eligible for Welcoming America’s “Friends of Welcoming” points that are redeemable for fun prizes, cash (to be donated to your favorite charity) or a $5,000 grant to start your own Welcoming Initiative.
